Fatima Consecration (Day 1): Keeping God’s Divine Law

In day 1 of Fatima Consecration, a 33 day preparation for Marian Consecration we examine the village life of Fatima. Mother Mary chose this little village for a reason. Why? What was it about their way of life that attracted the Mother of God? And what can we learn from their way of life, in preparation for our consecration to Jesus through Mary. Sr Lucia, one of the visions of the Fatima Apparitions describes in detail what life was like at that time. It would be summarized simply: the whole village lived Catholic life. Devotional to Our Blessed Mother was critical. The Sacramental life of the Church was essential. Virtues living was on public display. All families where blessed with the graces of Matrimony. The village of Fatima lived the Catholic life to it’s fullness. Could this be what attracted Mother Mary to appear? Could it be that living the Catholic life, was the preparation for the apparitions? The main lesson for us today in day 2 of our consecration retreat to to be aware that living the Catholic life is the best preparation for consecration to Mary. Sr Lucia writes, “But the whole village was so united that it appeared to be one single family!” There was a beautiful unity among the family.” Our blessed mother is attracted. “Their homes had been blessed by the Sacrament of Matrimony; and their conjugal fidelity was absolute. They welcomed all the children that God chose to send them, not as a burden but as another gift with which God was enriching their homes” (Sr Lucia, Calls, pg 40). Teaching the Catholic faith to children was a priority. Sr Lucia writes, “It was on their father’s knees and their mother’s lap that the children learned to pronounce the Holy Name of God…. Thus the light of faith grew so strong in these delicate, pure and innocent souls that it later illuminated their whole lives in all its meanderings.” “The day on which each of their children made his or her First Communion was one of solemn and intimate rejoicing for all the family, for on that day God was once again visiting their home and uniting Himself with one of its members.” (Sr Lucia, Calls, Pg 41) ‘In their homes there was no abundance of the earthly goods….However…there was peace and unity, joy and love… thus everyone was happy.” Everyone fulfilled the precept of keeping holy the Sundays. “In the morning, everyone went to Mass. In the afternoon people relaxed. The young people would meet together and have a good time in our yard… under the watchful eye of their parents.” Pray was an essential part of their way of life. “When the sun went down and the church bells rang, everybody stood up, the men taking off their characteristic cap and holding it in their hands while the Angelus was said.”Education

Fatima Consecration (Day 2): Guardian Angel Apparition

On day 2 of our Fatima Consecration we examine Sr Lucia account of seeing a Guardian Angel. Today we continue our 33 day journey of preparation of Marian consecration to Jesus through Mary. Sr Lucia shares how they saw something unusual. “We saw something like a white cloud in the shape of a human being, which had come down from the sky and was passing slowly in front of us, above the trees that stretched down to the valley at our feet, as if wishing to attract our attention and keep our eyes fixed on it.” She goes on to say these experiences happened serval times in different places, and that it was her interior conviction that what they saw was the Guardian Angel. Her reason for sharing this is not to confirm that it was an Angle, but to tell us that Guardian Angels truly exits. She simply wants to affair the teaching of the Catholic Church and what is true. It is a reminder to us to ask our angels intercession as prepare for our consecration to Mary. Get the suggested reading for todays Consecration Retreat. https://bit.ly/3DK1yGs Why does God first send an angle before Mary starts appearing? Sr. Lucia answers this writing, “to address to us yet another call to obey his law and remember the end for which we were created.” The Catholic Church teaches we have a guardian angel to watch over us. The Catechism of the Catholic Church proclaims that "from infancy to death human life is surrounded by their [angels'] watchful care and intercession. Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life. Already here on earth the Christian life shares by faith in the blessed company of angels and men united in God" (CCC, n. 336). Does our guardian angel every leave us? St. Thomas says angel guardian never forsakes a man entirely, but sometimes he leaves him in some particular, for instance by not preventing him from being subject to some trouble, or even from falling into sin, according to the ordering of Divine judgments. In a letter to one of his spiritual daughters, Parde Pio wrote concerning Guardian Angels, ”How consoling it is to know that we are always under the protection of a heavenly spirit, who never abandons us, not even (most admirable fact!) in the very act by which we displease God," wrote Padre Pio in a letter to one of his spiritual daughters. The main point to remember from today is that we can ask our Guardian Angels intercession in preparation for our Marian Consecration. Marian Consecration (Day 3): What Is The message of Fatima?

What is the Message of Fatima? Welcome to Fatima Consecration, a 33 day preparation Marian Consecration retreat. We are on day 3 of our journey to Jesus through Mary. If we were to ask Sr Lucia what the main message of Fatima would be What if you asked random people with a devotion to Our Lady of Fatima, what the main message of these apparitions are. What would they say? Some may point to the miracle of the Sun. Others the importance of consecrating Russia to the immaculate heart of Mary. And still others may the children’s vision of hell and saving poor sinners. But if we asked Sr Lucia what the main message of Fatima is, she would respond as she already wrote in her book calls, “Now the entire Message of Fatima is a call to pay attention to this divine Law. For this reason, we will go through it step by step and it will point out for us the way we are to go.” For Sr Lucy, the main message of Fatima is being obedient to the Divine Law of God. And what is this Divine Law? It is what God has revealed to be truth through Scripture, Tradition and the teaching magisterium of the Catholic Church. These three sources point God uses to reveal to us how He wants us to live our lives. Sr Lucia says, “Church is the custodian of the true Law of God and the doctrine taught by Jesus Christ.” So if we want to be obedience to God, we must follow the Church He has given us and speaks through. Fatima Consecration | Can We Call Mother Mary Our Hope? (Day 5)

Welcome to Fatima Consecration, a 33 day preparation Marian Consecration retreat. We are on day 5 of our journey to Jesus through Mary. Today Sr Lucia challenges us to the call to hope. Can we call Mother Mary our hope? It may sound a bit usually at first because isn't Jesus supposed to be our only hope? And do Catholic's even call Mother Mary our hope? Please consider supporting our work: https://www.patreon.com/KenandJanelle Join us for the Fatima Consecration: https://www.fatimaconsecration.org/ Recall the Salve Regina, is recited at the end of the Rosary and is also used in night prayers. It dates back to around the 11th century and is still sung today as a hymn in various forms, among them a beautiful chant. The words, "Hail Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, Our life, our sweetness, and our hope." How is it that we can call the Mother Mary, "Our Hope"? St. Thomas says two cause of hope, primary and intermediate. Mary is the intermediate cause of our hope because we have confidence Jesus will listen to His mother. What is the gift of hope? The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches, in par 1817-119. “Hope is the theological virtue by which we desire the kingdom of heaven and eternal life as our happiness, placing our trust in Christ's promises and relying not on our own strength, but on the help of the grace of the Holy Spirit. "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful." "The Holy Spirit . . . he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that we might be justified by his grace and become heirs in hope of eternal life.” The virtue of hope responds to the aspiration to happiness which God has placed in the heart of every man; it takes up the hopes that inspire men's activities and purifies them so as to order them to the Kingdom of heaven; it keeps man from discouragement; it sustains him during times of abandonment; it opens up his heart in expectation of eternal beatitude. Buoyed up by hope, he is preserved from selfishness and led to the happiness that flows from charity. St Anselm said, “It is not that we distrust the divine mercy, but rather that we distrust our own unworthiness, and commend ourselves to Mary the her merits may compensate for our unworthiness.” So can we call Mary our Hope - Yes. St John of Damacus calls Mary, “The hope of the despairing.” St Augustine calls Mary, “The only refuge of sinners.” St Ephrem calls Mary, “The secure haven for the ship wrecked.”Education

Nevertheless from all eternity, we have all been equally present in the mind of God, and part of His creative design. Moreover, He created all other things for love of each one of us, because we have always been present to Him and loved by Him. We have an eternal debt to pay to God, a debt that can only be repaid because the love of God came first, and continually increases in intensity. Hence, no one and nothing is as deserving as God is of a return of our love. We must therefore look upon the precept God has given us to “love Him”, as yet another proof of his love; it is a sign that He accepts our love, our gratitude, our humble return of love for Love. We are very small before the immensity of God, but we give Him what we have: ‘our love!’ It is a bit like what happens with children who cradle in the arms of the father from whom they receive everything, repay him with a hug and a kiss, symbols of their love. And the father smiles happily and is satisfied, because the child has given him a return of love. St Alphonsus says, “She (Mary) loved God more, in the first moment of her life, than all the saints and angels have loved him in the whole course of theirs.”Education

Fatima Consecration | Call To Forgiveness (Day 7)

Mother Mary appeared in Fatima. What was her message? Welcome to Fatima Consecration, a 33 day preparation for Marian Consecration retreat. We are on day 7 of our journey to Jesus through Mary. Sr Lucia writes, “The fifth call of the Message. “I ask Your pardon....”Immediately after the call to charity, the message speaks to us of forgiveness, asking us to ask God’s pardon for our brothers and sisters and also for ourselves; for those who do not believe and for those who do; for those who do not adore and for those who bow down in worship before God; for those who do not hope and for those who have every confidence; for those who do not love and for those who practice charity.” Please consider supporting our work: https://www.patreon.com/KenandJanelle Get all future videos by email: Join the Fatima Marian Consecration Retreat: https://www.fatimaconsecration.org/ To learn more about "how to forgive someone" we created a 7 part series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAvxzonSBR4&list=PLPtJlDO3CxNVL3OtacjPvtDZHGgkIxQFA Sr Lucia continues,”The fact is that we all need to obtain God’s pardon for our lack of faith, which is often so fragile, for our hope which is often so weak, for our charity which is often so cold and insensitive, and for our adoration, which is often so languid. We ask pardon for those who do not believe, for those who do not adore, for those who do not hope and for those who do not love; and very often we ourselves are among this number! For this reason, in what we call the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus Christ taught us to ask: “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us”. (Mt. 6, 12,). As we see we cannot obtain God’s pardon unless we ourselves first forgive our brothers and sisters. It follows that we must not harbour resentment, ill will, dislike, and still less a desire to avenge any offence, whether great or small, that one or other of our neighbours, great or small may have committed against us. Our forgiveness must be generous, complete and self sacrificing, in the sense of over coming ourselves. It will be necessary to silence with in us the cry of revolt, to calm excited nerves, to keep a firm grasp on the reign of our temper and keep a lid on the heat on our wounded self love which, whether rightly or wrongly, feels bruised and irritated. We hope you are blessed by this consecration through Mary series. More to come!Education

Fatima Consecration | Is Prayer Necessary for Salvation? (Day 8)

Mother Mary appeared in Fatima. What was her message? Welcome to Fatima Consecration, a 33 day preparation for Marian Consecration retreat. We are on day 8 of our journey to Jesus through Mary. Please consider supporting our work: https://www.patreon.com/KenandJanelle Get all future videos by email: Join the Fatima Marian Consecration Retreat: https://www.fatimaconsecration.org/ Sr Lucia writes, “The sixth call of the message: “Pray, pray very much!”As you already know, this call was made during the second apparition of the Angel. The three children were sitting on the side of the well in the grounds attached to my parents house. The Heavenly Messenger appeared and said to them: “What are you doing?” Then, without waiting for a reply, he went on “Pray, pray very much! The Hearts of Jesus and Mary have designs of mercy on you. Offer prayer and sacrifices constantly to the Most High. (..) Make of everything you can a sacrifice, and offer it to God as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended, and in supplication for the conversion of sinners. You will thus draw down peace upon your country. I am its Angel Guardian, the Angel of Portugal. Above all, accept and bear with submission the suffering which the Lord will send you”. Sr Lucia also mentions different forms of prayer The first - vocal prayers. An example of these would be those we memorize and say, like the Our Father or Hail Mary. The second type of prayer she mentions is Meditation, also known as mental prayer. This is when we use our imagination and intellect to pray. An example would be imagining a specific mystery of the Rosary. Consider the 2nd sorrowful mystery, the scourging at the pillar, when we pray for the virtue of purity. Mental prayer would be, placing yourself at that mystery engaging all your senses. You look into the raging eyes of those who whipped Jesus. You hear the snap of the whip, and you see it digging into his flesh, and you smell the spray of Jesus’ blood being flung into the air, you watch a solitary drop of blood, hit the ground, offered for your purity. In this way we enter into the mystery of Jesus Christ, with Mary. Regarding prayer must be part of our 33 day preparation for Marian Consecration. Union of hearts with Jesus is Mary can not happen without pray! Is prayer necessary for salvation? Listen to what these Doctors of the Catholic Church say: St. Bernard said that meditation regulates our affections, directs our actions, and corrects our defects St. Teresa said that when a man leaves off meditation, the devil has no need of carrying him to hell, for he throws himself into it. St Alphonsus said, “Mental prayer is, in the first place, necessary, in order that we may have light to go on the journey to eternity.” Sr Lucia emphasis that without prayer, we are so weak and will be defeated by temptation. “We are well aware that our wills are weak and how much we need the strength of grace to enable us to overcome the temptations which assail us, the dangers surrounding us and the tendencies which incline us to evil. This is why Jesus Christ taught us to pray to the Father saying “Lead us not into temptation” (Mt 6, 13).” #MarianConsecration #FatimaEducation

The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared in Fatima. What was her message? Welcome to Fatima Consecration, a 33 day preparation for Marian Consecration series. We are on day 9 of our journey to Jesus through Mary. Please consider supporting our work: https://www.patreon.com/KenandJanelle Get all future videos by email: Join the Fatima Marian Consecration Retreat: https://www.fatimaconsecration.org/ Sr Lucia writes: The Seventh Call of The Message. “Offer prayers and Sacrifices constantly to the Most High”.This is the call to sacrifice, which God now addresses to us, is something which we find in many pages of Sacred Scripture. It may seem superfluous to repeat it again here; but it will not be in vain, because we are all so forgetful and lackadaisical about fulfilling this great duty. The Message calls on us to ‘make of everything you can a sacrifice and offer it to God as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended and in supplication for the conversion of sinners’. (Words of the Angel). They maybe sacrifices of spiritual, intellectual, moral, physical or material things; depending on the particular moment, we shall have the opportunity of offering first one and then another. What is important is that we should be ready to take advantage of every opportunity that presents itself; in particular, that we should be ready to make sacrifices when this is required of us in order to fulfill our duty to God, to our neighbour and to ourselves. All the more so if such a sacrifice is necessary in order to avoid transgressing one of the commandments of God’s Law; in these circumstances, the obligation to offer up whatever is necessary is obligatory, because we have an obligation to offer up whatever is necessary in order to avoid committing sin. Our eternal salvation depends on it, as Jesus Christ tells us in the Gospel: “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake, he will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?” (Lk 9, 23-25). From what our Lord says to us here, we see that we must be prepared to die rather than commit a grave sin which might cause us to lose eternal life. Now the same is true, and all the more so, if obeying God’s law demands of us sacrifices of something of less value than our own lives. Renouncing anything which might cause us to sin is the way to salvation. It is for this reason that the Lord warns us that whoever would save his life, will lose it: in other words, anyone who wishes to satisfy their disordered appetites, live a sinful life, tread the broad path of sin, without repenting or making amends, will lose eternal life. How can we not ask ourselves with Jesus “What does it profit us if we gain the whole world, and lose or forfeit ourselves?” To endure uncomplainingly whatever little annoyances we may encounter on our path: sometimes, it may be a disagreeable, irritating or unpleasant word; at others, it may be an ironic smile, a look of disdain, a contradiction; or we are passed over or set aside as of no account; yet again, it may be a misunderstanding, a reproof, a rejection, when we are passed over, forgotten, an act of ingratitude, ect. Thus it is necessary to know how to endure all things, offering our sacrifice to God and letting things drop; to let all things pass as if we were blind, deaf and dumb, so that we may in fact see better, speak with greater certainty and hear the voice of God. Let others seem to have their way; I say, “seem” because in reality the one who prevails is the one who knows how to keep silent for the love of God. Other key points from today’s preparation of total consecration to Jesus through Mary. Holy Mary experienced sufferings exceeding all the Martys says St Alphonsus. For 2 reasons, Our Blessed Mother suffered longest and the greatest. The Blessed Virgin Mary suffered longer because, being full of grace she would have understood the prophets of the Old Testament about the Messiah better than the prophets themselves (since she was full of grace). Our Holy Mother knew what was coming in the life of Jesus. Secondly, Our Blessed Mother suffered greater. St. Alphonsus says, calvary had two alters the alter of Jesus body, the other had Mary’s soul which she suffered in compassion. Jesus revealed to St Catherine of Siena there was, “No comparison between the suffering of the body and the suffering of the soul.” And Recall Simone prophecy a sword shall price your soul! The point, the blessed Virgin suffered tremendously. And she can helps carry our cross with Jesus. #MarianConsecrationEducation

Fatima Consecration | Mary Mother of the Eucharist (Day 10)

Mary Mother of the Eucharist, a beautify title the Catholic Church gives the Blessed Virgin Mary to highlight her relationship with the Holy Eucharistic. What does this have to do with the message of Fatima? Welcome to Fatima Consecration, a 33 day preparation for Marian Consecration series. We are on day 10 of our journey to total consecration to Jesus through Mary. Please consider supporting our work: https://www.patreon.com/KenandJanelle Get all future videos by email: Join the Fatima Marian Consecration Retreat: https://www.fatimaconsecration.org/ Sr Lucia writes: The eighth Call of the Message “Take and drink the Body and blood of Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by ungrateful men. Make reparation for their crimes and console your God.” This call which the Message addresses to us is very explicit in the Gospel but very many people misunderstand it, have forgotten it, ignore it, turn their backs on it and, saddest of all, revile it. When Jesus Christ revealed His intention of remaining with us in the Eucharist in order to be our spiritual food, our strength and our life, the Pharisees were scandalized and did not believe. But Our Lord insisted: “I am the bread of life. (...) if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh. (...) Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.” (John 6:48-51. John 6:53-54) It is clear from these words that if we do not receive the food of Holy Communion, we shall not have within us the life of grace, the supernatural life that depends on our union with Christ through receiving His Body and Blood in Holy Communion. It was for this that He remained in the Eucharist, in order to be our spiritual food, our daily bread which sustains the supernatural life within us. When we see that Jesus Christ assures us of his real Presence, body and soul, living as He is in Heaven, wherever the consecrated bread and wine are preserved. He says: “This is” He did not say “This was”, nor “This may be”, nor yet, “This will be.” What he said was “This is”. In every moment, everywhere, the consecrated bread and wine are the body and blood of Jesus Christ, and continue to be so far as long as this bread and this wine are preserved. The words of Jesus Christ, true God and true Man, make this clear; and the word of God accomplishes what it signifies. Enclosed within our tabernacles, offered on our altars, our Saviour continues of offer Himself to the Father as a victim for the remission of the sins of all human beings, in the hope that many generous people will wish to be united to Him, to become one with Him by sharing in the same sacrifice, so that with Him they can offer themselves to the Father as victim, in Himself but also in the members of His Mystical Body which is the Church. It is the Call of the Message: offer to the Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore you profoundly, and I offer you the precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ present in all the Tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the insults, sacrileges and indifference with which He Himself is offended. And, through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg you the conversion of poor sinners’ (Message of the Angel).Education

Holy Trinity & Virgin Mary | Fatima Consecration (Day 11)

Understanding the Virgin Mary in relationship to the Holy Trinity. Welcome back to Fatima Consecration, our 33 day journey to Jesus through Mary. One of the great mysteries of the Catholic faith is the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. The mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of Christian faith and life. It is the mystery of God in himself. It is therefore the source of all the other mysteries of faith, the light that enlightens them. It is the most fundamental and essential teaching in the "hierarchy of the truths of faith". The whole history of salvation is identical with the history of the way and the means by which the one true God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, reveals himself to men "and reconciles and unites with himself those who turn away from sin”. (CCC 234) The truth of about the Holy Trinity is one that only be know because God has revealed it. “The Trinity is a mystery of faith in the strict sense, one of the "mysteries that are hidden in God, which can never be known unless they are revealed by God” (CCC 237) The Catholic Church refers to the Virgin Mary with the title Mother of God. Therefore the Mary relates to each person of the Holy Trinity in a special way. In True Devotion To Mary, St Louis de louis de montfort writes: God the Father made an assemblage of all the waters, and He named it the sea. He has made an assemblage of all His graces, and He has called it Mary. 23 God the Son has communicated to His Mother all that He has acquired by His Life and by His Death, His infinite merits and His admirable virtues; and He has made her the treasuress of all that His Father has given Him for His inheritance. (24) To Mary, His faithful Spouse, God the Holy Ghost has communicated His unspeakable gifts; and He has chosen her to be the dispensatrix of all He possesses, in such sort that she distributes to whom she wills, as much as she wills, as she wills, and when she wills, all His gifts and graces. The Holy Ghost gives no heavenly gift to men which He does not pass through her virginal hands. (25) Summarizing St Louis through regarding the Blessed Virgin Mary’s relationship to the Holy Trinity, we writes: “God the Son, “made Himself Man” in and through Mary. God the Hoy Spirit, formed Jesus Christ in Mary and by her consent (True Devotion To Mary, No. 16)” Regarding the Virgin Mary’s relationship with the mystery of the Trinity, the Vatican teaches the following: She (Mary) is endowed with the high office and dignity of the Mother of the Son of God, and therefore she is also the beloved daughter of the Father and the temple of the Holy Spirit" (Lumen Gentium, n. 53). Additionally, St. Alphonsus said, “it principally became the Eternal Father to preserve this His daughter unspotted by Adam's sin, as Saint Bernardine of Sienna remarks, because He destined her to be the Mother of His Only-begotten Son.”Education

Why Pray The Daily Rosary? - Fatima Marian Consecration (Day 12)

Why pray the daily Rosary? Today we continue our Fatima Marian Consecration Retreat by examining the first apparition of Mary as we journey to Jesus through Mary. The apparitions of Fatima are approved by the Catholic Church. We turn to Sr Lucia's insights as she reflects upon what she saw as a little girl. Sr Lucia writes: When they had gone a few steps down the slope they saw another flash of light, which they took to be a second flash of lightening, and this made them hurry even faster and urge the flock on even more. A few steps further on, about halfway down the slope, they stopped in surprise when they saw a lovely Lady of light on a small holm oak. They were not afraid, because the supernatural does not arouse fear; causing instead a pleasant surprise of absorbing fascination. The lovely Lady opened her lips as if about to speak and said to the children “ Do not be afraid. I will do you no harm”. Once the silence had been broken, and encouraged by the trust that the lovely Lady inspired in us: I asked: “Where are you from?” “I am from Heaven” she replied. “And what do want of me?” I asked. She replied: “I have come here to ask you to come here on the 13th day of the month for six months in succession, at this hour. Later on, I will tell you who I am and what I want. Afterwards, I will return here yet a seventh time”. When I heard this reply, the thought that I was talking to someone who had come from Heaven gave me courage and I asked whether I, too, would have the good fortune to go to Heaven, whereupon the Lady replied” Yes, you will.” “And Jacinta?” I asked. “She will go too.” She replied. “And Francisco?” I persisted. She replied “He will go too, but He must say many Rosaries”. I think that this special injunction to Francisco is for all of us. It is not that saying many Rosaries, as such, is an indispensable condition for going to Heaven, but that we must pray much. Naturally, to say the Rosary every day was the most accessible form of prayer for those children, as it is today for the great majority of people, and there is no doubt that it will be difficult for someone to be saved if they never pray. I remember that I then asked about a girl I knew who died shortly before that: the reply Our Lady gave confirms that there is a Purgatory, and this is at the same time yet another proof of the need we have to pray. Hence, Our Lady’s reply to the question I asked her about that girl- Amelia - was as follows: “She will be in purgatory until the end of the world”. This may seem a lot to us, but the mercy of God is always great. By our sins we have gravely offended Him and have deserved Hell! In spite of this, he forgives us and grants us time to pay for them and, by means of reparation and purification, to be saved. Moreover, He accepts the prayers and sacrifices that others offer to Him for the benefit of those who are in this place of expiation. Why pray the daily Rosary? Why not rather go to Mass every day? Now if God, through Our Lady, had asked us to go to Mass and receive Holy Communion every day, there would be undoubtedly have been a great many people who would have said, quite rightly, that this was not possible. Some, on account of the distance separating them from the nearest Church where Mass was celebrated; others on account of the circumstances of their lives, their state in life, their job, the state of their health, ect. On the other hand to pray the Rosary is something everybody can do, rich and poor, wise and ignorant, great and small. All people of good will can, and must say the Rosary every day. Why? In order to put ourselves in contact with God, to thank Him for His benefits and ask for the graces we need. It is the prayer which places us in familiar contact with God, like the son who goes to his father to thank him for the gifts he has received, to talk to him about special concerns, to receive his guidance, his help, his support and his blessing. I would add that even those people who are able to assist at Mass every day should not, for this reason, neglect to say their daily Rosary. Obviously, the time they devote to saying the Rosary is not the same as that during which they are assisting at Mass. For such people, praying the Rosary can be looked upon as a way of preparing themselves to participate better in the Eucharist, or as a thanksgiving after it. There are many fine prayers that can be used as a means of preparing to receive Christ in the Eucharist, and of maintaining our intimate relationship with God. But I do not think that we shall find one more suited to people in general than the praying of the five or fifteen mysteries of the Rosary. Devotion To The Immaculate Heart of Mary (Day 13)

What does it mean to have Devotion to the Immaculate heart of Mary? Welcome to day 13 of Fatima Consecration, our journey to Jesus through Mary. Sr Lucia, one of the Fatima visionaries explains devotion to the Immaculate of Heart of Mary in her book titled, “Calls.” She writes the following found in Chapter 13. To establish in the world devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary means to bring people to a full consecration through conversion, self - dedication, intimate esteem, veneration and love. Thus,, it is in this spirit of consecration that conversion that God wishes to establish in the world, devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We all know that a mother’s heart represents love in the bosom of a family. In fact, it is love which makes the mother bend over her baby’s cradle, sacrifices herself for it, give herself, rush to the defense of her child. All children trust in the heart of their mother, and we all know that we have in her place a special affection. The same applies tot he Virgin Mary. Thus this message says: “My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.” Hence, the Heart of Mary is a refuge and the way to God for all his children. This refuge and this way were proclaimed to all humanity immediately after the fall of our first parents. To the devil, who had tempted the first human beings, and had induced them to disobey the divine order they had been given, the Lord said: “I will put enmity between you and the woman, between your seed and her seed; he shall bruise your head and you shall bruise his heel.” (Gen 3, 15). The new generation that God foretold would be born of this woman, will triumph in the battle against the progeny of Satan, to the point of crushing its head. Mary is the Mother of this new generation, as if she were a new tree of life, planted by God in the garden of the world so that all her children can partake of her fruit. It is from the heart of their mother that children receive their natural life, their first breath, their life giving blood, the beating of their heart, as if the mother were the spring of a clock impelling movement to two pendulums. When we see how dependent the child is on its mother in those early months of its formation in the womb, we could almost say that the heart of the mother is the heart of the child. And we can say the same of Mary when she carried the Son of the eternal Father in her womb. Hence, it follows that the Heart of Mary is, in some sense, the heart of all that other generation, the first fruit of which is Christ. Thus we see that devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary must be established in the world by means of a true consecration, through conversion and self- giving. In the same way, through the consecration, the bread and wine are converted in to the Body and Blood of Christ, which were drawn from His very life from the Heart of Mary. Hence it is that this Immaculate Heart must be for us a refuge and the way that leads to God. Additional thoughts from Catholic saints regarding this devotion: St. Anselm said, “If he who prays does not merit to be heard, the merits of the Mother, to whom he recommends himself, will intercede effectually.” Novarinus adds: “If Mary comes to the rescue so quickly, without being asked, what more will she do if she is asked?” St. Louis says, “But we have an Advocate so powerful that she is never refused anything. She is so resourceful that she knows every secret way to win the heart of God. She is so good and kind that she never passes over anyone no matter how lonely and sinful” ( True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin, Part II, Chap. 4, Para. 147, 149, 150). When speaking of Mary Saint Alphonsus says something similar: She is the singular Refuge of the abandoned, the Hope of the miserable, and the Advocate of every sinner who turns to her. Vision of Hell | Fatima Marian Consecration (Day 14)

The Fatima children's vision of hell: The Catholic Church teaches these are the two realities, heaven or hell, each on of us will experience for all eternity. Welcome to day 14 of the Fatima Marian Consecration as we journey to Jesus through Mary. Learn more about our Fatima Consecration sponsors, Clay Ministries: https://www.clayministries.org/ In today’s reflection, Sr Lucia reminds us of what Our Lady of Fatima, revealed during the apparition on 13th July 1917. She writes: There are unbelievers in the world who deny these realities (heaven and hell), but this does not make them any the less real; nor does these people’s incredulity deliver them from the pains of hell if their lives of sin should lead them to it. There are many passages in Sacred Scripture that speak to us about hell and its torments, and about those who go there. Thus, at the Last Judgment, those who have not performed the works of mercy will be told: “Depart from me, you cursed, into eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels(..)” ‘And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life’ (Mt 25, 41, 46). With this end in view, the Message assures us that hell does truly exist and that the souls of poor sinners do in fact go there: “You have seen hell (the Message said to the three little shepherds from Aljustrel) where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace”. (Our Lady. 13th July 1917) Moreover, after showing the children the horrible vision of hell, the message once again pointed to the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary as the way of salvation: “To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to the Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace”. Peace with ones own conscience, peace with God, peace in our homes, peace with one’s neighbours and peace between the nations. This is the peace that the world ardently longs for, and from which it is so far removed because it does not listen to, or follow, the word of God! Hence the words of the Message: “If what I say to you is done”...And what is that Our Lady says to us? We shall continue to see what it is She says in the description of the Calls of the Message. For the moment, let me remind you of a passage from the Gospel of St John, in which we find what we might call “Mary’s commandment”. The Fatima children's vision of hell or one of the most talked about. We hope Sr Lucia's interpretation of these events encourage you in your Catholic faith, to seek Jesus through Mary. Many Souls Go To Hell | Fatima Apparition (Day 15)

Catholic video | "Many souls go to Hell." These were the words of the Blessed Virgin Mary to the Children of Fatima, an approved Catholic apparition. Welcome to Day 15 of Fatima Consecration as we continue our Marian Consecration Series based upon Sr Lucia interpretation of the Apparitions of Fatima. Our Lady said, Make sacrifices for sinners, and say often, especially while making a sacrifice: O Jesus, this is for love of Thee, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for offences committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary. When Our Lady told this to the children, she opened her hands as she had during the two previous apparitions. Lucia described what happened. “The rays of light seemed to penetrate the earth, and we saw as it were a sea of fire.” Lucia described the vision this way: As Our Lady spoke these last words, she opened her hands once more, as she had done during the two previous months. The rays of light seemed to penetrate the earth, and we saw as it were a sea of fire. Plunged in this fire were demons and souls in human form, like transparent burning embers, all blackened or burnished bronze, floating about in the conflagration, now raised into the air by the flames that issued from within themselves together with great clouds of smoke now falling back on every side like sparks in huge fires, without weight or equilibrium, amid shrieks and groans of pain and despair, which horrified us and made us tremble with fear. (It must have been this sight which caused me to cry out, as people say they heard me). The demons could be distinguished by their terrifying and repellent likeness to frightful and unknown animals, black and transparent like burning coals. Terrified and as if to plead for succour, we looked up at Our Lady, who said to us, so kindly and so sadly: You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. “Pray, pray very much and make sacrifices for sinners; for many souls go to hell because there is no one to make sacrifices and to pray for them” (Our Lady’s message 19th August, 1917) Sr Lucia writes in her book calls: In this passage, the Message asks us to undertake an apostolate on behalf of our brothers and sisters. The apostolate is a continuation of the mission of Christ on earth; we must be co-workers with Christ in His work of Redemption, in the salvation of souls. #Fatima The first step in our apostolate, and the necessary condition for it to bear fruit, is thus our union with Christ through prayer. Without this life of prayer and contact with God, every apostolate is fruitless, because it is God who makes effective what we do, what we say and the efforts we make. Hence, the Message tells us: “Pray and make sacrifices” so that through your prayers, your words, your example, your acts of self denial, your work and your charity, you will be able to help your brothers and sisters to get up again if they have fallen, to return to the right path if they have strayed away from it, and to draw close to God if they are estranged from Him. You will also be able to help them to overcome the difficulties, dangers and temptations that surround, seduce and pull them down. Very often, people are overcome and fall because they have no one at their side willing to pray and to make sacrifices for them, stretching out a hand to them, and helping them to follow a better path.Education

Live The Narrow Road | The Catholic Life (Day 16)

Living the Catholic life is living the narrow road. Welcome to day 16 of our journey to Jesus through Mary. It has been an honour to serve you through this Marian Consecration Series. Nobody is guarantee salvation! Jesus warns us of the two each of us has the chose to travel down. “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (In Matthew 7:13-14) The narrow road, the life of grace, requires perseverance in virtue. It requires a daily seeking Jesus. This gift of perseverance is available to all, but we should ask for this gift. St Alphonsus teaches,” [it is not enough] to ask the grace of perseverance once, or a few times; we ought always to ask it every day till our death, if we wish to obtain it.” St Bellarmine writes, “It must be asked day by day, that it may be obtained day by day.” How should we interpret the Narrow Road passage. "STOP OFFENDING GOD" | Fatima Miracle of the Sun (Day 17)

Stop offending God & the Fatima Miracle of the Sun! This is the message of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Fatima an approved apparition of the Catholic Church. Welcome to day 17 of Fatima Consecration Marian Retreat. We continue our journey of consecration to Jesus through Mary. Today we examine the incredible miracle of the Sun at Fatima witnessed by tens of thousands of people. What is often over looked is that the Blessed Virgin Mary said this miracle would have been even more spectacular if the children had not been prevented from coming to the apparition sight. Sr Lucia writes in Chapter 17 of her book Calls: “Do not offend the Lord our God anymore, because He is already so much offended” (Our Lady, 13th October, 1917). The Call that the Message is making to us here reminds us once again of the need to observe the first of all the commandments of God’s Law, in other words, the love of God. The precept to love God is the first of the commandments, not only on account of the unique greatness of the Object it contemplates, but also because it is this love which would lead us to fulfill faithfully all the other commandments. The essence of the message- Do not offend the Lord our God any more-is contained in the observance of these two commandments. We all know that it is by sin that we offend God, when we fail to observe this commandment of love which we owe to Him, to our neighbour and to ourselves; yes, to ourselves, because we do serious harm to ourselves also, at times without thinking or feeling that we do. We offend God because we transgress his precepts, all of which are a manifestation of his love for us. As in the case of the love of a father, who takes his son by the hand and points out to him the path he is to follow in order to attain happiness and inherit his fathers property, if the son becomes unruly and rebellious, if he despises the things his father has taught him, obviously he hurts and offends his father in the most sensitive part of his heart, his love. In the same way, when we despise or violate the commandments of God, we cause hurt and offence to that which is most magnificent in God, God, in the fatherly love with which He created us, enfolded us with loving care in all that surrounds us for our own good and which He created for our good, the love with which He redeemed us from sin and opened to us the gates of Heaven, with which He will grant us to us our inheritance in His Kingdom. Hence, every sin is an offence against God Our Father and a rejection of His love, since we are preferring our sin to the love we owe to God and to possession of His Kingdom, knowing that by our sin we lose the right to it. The Blessed Virgin herself said to St. Bridget: “However much a man may have sinned, if he returns to me with a genuine intention of repentance, I’m ready at once to receive him. I don’t pay attention to the sins with which he’s burdened, but only to the good disposition in which he comes. And then I don’t refuse to anoint and heal his wounds, for I am called, and truly am, the Mother of Mercy.” To learn more about the Fatima Miracle of the Sun, check out the following: Article: Fatima: 4 great lessons from the “Miracle of the Sun” https://aleteia.org/2017/10/13/october-13-in-fatima-the-day-god-shouted/ Learn more about the Fatima message from Fr Mark Goring https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn3rS-5n2kc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEdRx3YH9gA #Fatima #CatholicEducation

Breakdown of Family | Fatima Consecration (Day 18)

The nuclear family is the building block of society. Breakdown the family, and society as we know it crumbles. Welcome to day 18 of Fatima Consecration as we continue our journey to Jesus through Mary. Sister Lucia wrote Catholic Cardinal Carlo Caffara a dire warning he revealed in 2008 and which we see rapidly unfolding in the world: “The final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about Marriage and the Family. Don't be afraid…because whoever works for the sanctity of Marriage and the Family will always be fought against and opposed in every way, because this is the decisive issue.” She ended saying, “nevertheless, Our Lady has already crushed his head.” Sister Lucia writes in her book Calls: Parents are the ones who must guide their children’s first step to the altar of God, teaching them to raise their innocent hands and to pray, helping them discover how to find God on their way and to follow the echo of his voice. This is the most serious and important mission that has been entrusted by God to parents; and they must fulfil it so well that, through their lives the memory of theirs parents will always arouse in their children the memory of God and of His teachings Parents who do not instill a knowledge of God and of his commandments into their children from an early age…. Are failing to fulfil the mission entrusted to them by God. .. they are answerable to God for it. St Alphonsus says, Children have not been given to parents as a present, which they may dispose of as they please, but as a trust, for which, if lost through their negligence, they must render an account to God. Sister Lucia writes Parents who disregard this law of God are themselves responsible for the ignorance of their children. … Very Often, it is this ignorance that is responsible for the disordered lives of the children who torment the declining years of their parents, and are themselves lost. Journey with us to Jesus through Mary on day 19 of our Marian Consecration Series. Today we examine the second of the three further apparitions at Fatima, where Jesus appears as the perfect man and the blessed Virgin Mary appears as Our Lady as Our Lady of Sorrows. Sr Lucia’ writes: What is the meaning of this apparition? I say that this apparition is a call to the practice of the Christian life as Jesus and His Mother lived here on earth and, by His example and His teaching, He taught us to follow in His footsteps. Jesus did not come into this world as our Redeemer only, but also as Our Teacher, to teach us the way that we are to follow in order to go to the Father: “I am the way, and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but by me. Jesus Christ left us the works He accomplished and that bear witness to Him as proof of His Divinity. Jesus Christ was also our model as a worker. He is a worker who, fulfilling the law of work, earns His living with the sweat of the brow, as God had ordered all human beings to do: ‘in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life Sr. Lucia reminds us of prayer and sacrifice as we continue our Marian Consecration. She writes “Prayer and penance are the solid foundation on which Jesus Christ rests his sacred mission of Master; Doctor and Redeemer.” As we journey to Jesus through Mary, let’s examine the appearance of Our Lady of Sorrows. Key quotes from today’s Marian Consecration series. Regarding Mary’s Mary’s Martyrdom, St Alphonsus writes: “There can be no doubt, that, enlightened by the Holy Ghost in a far higher degree than all the Prophets, she, far better than they, understood the predictions recorded by them in the sacred Scriptures concerning the Messiah.” (St. Alphonsus Sermons, Saturday After Ash Wednesday). Quoting the private revelation of St Bridget, the Blessed Virgin Mary said,“do not pity me only for the hour in which I beheld my dear Jesus expiring before my eyes; for the Sword of Sorrow predicted by Simeon pierced my soul during my whole life. When I was giving suck to my Son, when I was warming Him in my arms, I already foresaw the bitter death that awaited Him. Consider, then, what long and bitter sorrows I must have endured.” #MarianConsecration #CatholicEducation

Catholic Consecrated Life | Our Lady Of Mount Carmel (Day 20)

The Catholic Consecrated life and Our Lady of Mount Carmel. How are these two aspects of the Catholic faith connected in the Apparitions of Fatima? Welcome to day 20 of Fatima Consecration, our 33 day preparation of consecration to Jesus through Mary. Sister Lucia offers her interpretation the apparition of Our Lady of Mount Carmel at Fatima in her books Calls. She writes: In my view, the apparition of Our Lady of Mount Carmel means total consecration to God. By showing herself clothed in a religious habit, she wished to represent all the other habits by which those who are totally consecrated to God can be distinguished from ordinary secular Christians. To learn about the Catholic Consecrated life check out the video, "A safer way to Heaven" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhEQUNJHj7k Learn more about the Catholic priesthood. Check out video by Ascension Presents https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NflQiP89YFc Building off of this apparition of Our Lady of Mt Carmel she writes: Habits are the distinguishing mark of a consecration, a protection of decorum and Christian modesty, a means of defense for the consecrated person. Those who are consecrated value them in the same way as soldiers value their uniforms and graduates their coloured stripes: the habit marks them out and indicates what they are and the place they occupy, while at the same time obliging them to behave in a way that is appropriate to their status. Hence, to lay aside the habit is a retrograde step; it is to disappear into the ranks of those who have not been called or chosen for something higher; it is to strip oneself of a mark of distinction that singles a person out and raises a person up; it is to descend to a lower level, in order to live like those who have not been called to a higher one. The requirement of virginity and celibacy does not mean that marriage itself is not good. On the contrary, it is an institution created by God and one which Jesus Christ raised to a sacrament. Nor does it mean that it is less pleasing to God to be married and have children, since these are the fruits of the sacrament and a blessing from God. It only means that, for those who are called and chosen for a life of total consecration to the service of God, the Lord has other requirements and other gifts, because their ultimate destiny is different. The evangelical counsels which we embrace are the sacrifice which we offer to God, the renunciation of all things, and of ourselves, in order to follow Him with a pure heart, generously and joyfully. And once we have made our offering to God, we cannot turn back. As it says in Sacred Scripture: “When a man vows a vow to the Lord or swears an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he shall not break his word; he shall do all that proceeds out of his mouth (Num 30, 2-3). And in another place we read: “When you make a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not be slack to pay it; for the Lord your God will surely require it of you, and it would be sin in you. But if you refrain from vowing, it shall be no sin in you. The mission of consecrated persons is to work and sanctify themselves in union with Christ for the Kingdom of Heaven. Thus each consecrated soul is another Christ on earth, another lamb sent by God to take away the sins of the world. The way to accomplish this mission is to give our lives: “unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone: but if it dies, it bears much fruit” (Jn 12, 24). It is by death that we attain to life and it is by means of the life that we thus attain that we save ourselves from death. It is in this sense that Our Lord goes on to say: “He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, he must follow me, and where I am, there shall my servants be also; if any one serves me, the Father will honour him” (Jn 12, 27). It was for this reason that, there on the heavens, close to the Sun which had gone pale in the presence of the Light of God, the Message wished to give us a taste of the glory enjoyed by those who have already reached the Kingdom of God, but who, here on earth, by the example of their lives and the light of their teaching have marked out for us the way to heaven: Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Consecration Prayer To Mary (By St Maximilian Kolbe)

The consecration prayer to Mary by St Maximilian Kolbe is a beautiful prayer of total consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary. It can be said daily to renew our entrustment to Mary and also after a 33 day preparation. We may consecrate ourselves to the Mary in various ways with different vocal prayers. A simple interior act of the will is enough since in this is included the heart of the consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary. For greater assistance, a short prayer that expresses the spirit of this Catholic devotion is helpful. Prayer For Marian Consecration by St Maximilian Kolbe O Immaculata, Queen of Heaven and earth, refuge of sinners and our most loving Mother, God has willed to entrust the entire order of mercy to thee. I, N___, a repentant sinner, cast myself at thy feet humbly imploring thee to take me with all that I am and have, wholly to thyself as thy possession and property. Please make of me, of all my powers of soul and body, of my whole life, death and eternity, whatever most pleases thee. If it pleases thee, use all that I am and have without reserve, wholly to accomplish what was said of thee: “She shall crush your head,” and, “Thou alone hast destroyed all heresies in the whole world.” Let me be a fit instrument in thine Immaculate and merciful hands for introducing and increasing thy glory to the maximum in all the many strayed and indifferent souls, and thus help extend as far as possible the blessed Kingdom of the most Sacred Heart of Jesus. For wherever thou enterest, one obtains the grace of conversion and growth in holiness, since it is through thy hands that all graces come to us from the most Sacred Heart of Jesus. V. Allow me to praise thee O Sacred Virgin.R. Give me strength against thy enemies. St. Maximilian teaches rightly that the words, or the formula of consecration, are of small significance What is important is the desire to offer oneself as a limitless oblation to the Immaculate as Her “property and possession.” The words and formula are meant to assist us in this.
